Zwei Jahre lang recherchierte Volz, um dieser Frage auf den Grund zu gehen. Es f\u00fchrte ihn unter anderem nach Beirut und Paris, wo er K\u00fcnstler*innen und Intellektuelle zur gegenw\u00e4rtigen Situation von Homosexuellen im Arabischen Raum interviewte.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-embedded-content\" data-secret=\"OamtVHmqaa\"><p><a href=\"https:\/\/mannschaft.com\/2020\/02\/27\/im-konflikt-zwischen-religion-und-sexualitaet-juedische-muslimische-lgbtiq\/\">Im Konflikt zwischen Religion und Sexualit\u00e4t<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><iframe class=\"wp-embedded-content\" sandbox=\"allow-scripts\" security=\"restricted\" style=\"position: absolute; clip: rect(1px, 1px, 1px, 1px);\" title=\"&#8222;Im Konflikt zwischen Religion und Sexualit\u00e4t&#8220; &#8212; Mannschaft Magazin\" src=\"https:\/\/mannschaft.com\/2020\/02\/27\/im-konflikt-zwischen-religion-und-sexualitaet-juedische-muslimische-lgbtiq\/embed\/#?secret=OamtVHmqaa\" data-secret=\"OamtVHmqaa\" width=\"600\" height=\"338\" frameborder=\"0\" marginwidth=\"0\" marginheight=\"0\" scrolling=\"no\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Die Ergebnisse seiner Interviews k\u00f6nnen im SYNNIKA, einem experimentellen Raum f\u00fcr Theorie und Praxis im Frankfurter Bahnhofsviertel gesehen werden. Die Ausstellung heisst \u00abMithly\u00bb, das erste Wort im arabischen f\u00fcr Homosexualit\u00e4t, das nicht beleidigend sei, sagt Volz. Das Wort gibt es erst seit 15 Jahren.<\/p>\n<p>Zudem interessierte ihn aber auch der \u00abOrient\u00bb als Sehnsuchtsort f\u00fcr homoerotische Liebe. Oscar Wilde und Andr\u00e9 Gide h\u00e4tten mit ihren Reisen und B\u00fcchern zu diesem Bild beigetragen. \u00abDer westliche Blick auf die queere Kultur in der arabischen Welt sei bis heute von \u2039orien\u00adta\u00adlis\u00adti\u00adschen\u203a.\u00a0Fantasien \u00fcberlagert\u00bb, beklagt Volz. Mit dem Soziologen und Autor Antoine Idier, der sich auf die Geschichte der fran\u00adz\u00f6\u00adsi\u00adschen Homo\u00adse\u00adxu\u00adel\u00adlen\u00adbe\u00adwe\u00adgung spezia\u00adli\u00adsiert hat, sprach er \u00fcber die franz\u00f6sische Auspr\u00e4gung dieses Bildes.<\/p>\n<p>Im etwa eineinhalbst\u00fcndigen Film, der in der Ausstellung gezeigt wird, kommen zudem auch drei K\u00fcnstler zu Wort. Zum einen spricht der libanesische Videok\u00fcnstler Akram Zaatari \u00fcber den Fotografen Hashem el Madani (1928-2017), der in seinem Fotostudio sich liebende M\u00e4nner abbildete. Zum anderen werden Ausschnitte aus dem Dokumentarfilm \u00abAnya Kneez. Das Werk ist teilweise autobiografisch. Im. Interview mit Volz spricht Ta\u00efa auch \u00fcber die Aufbruchsstimmung der Szene in Marokko, die vor allem \u00fcber queere Social-Media-Stars stattfindet.<\/p>\n<p>Der zweite Teil der Ausstellung zeigt neue, bisher nicht ausgestellte Zeichnungen aus der Serie \u00abbedworks\u00bb des marokkanischen K\u00fcnstlers Soufiane Ababri. Volz bemerkt, dass sich in der Region etwas tut:\u00a0\u00abEs ist eine Emanzipationsbewegung\u00bb. Es sei zwar nicht leicht f\u00fcr queere Menschen in der arabischen Welt. Aber:\u00a0\u00abDie Leute haben Lust, offen und selbstbewusst dazu zu stehen, ihre Kultur zu leben.\u00bb<\/p>\n<p>Die aufbl\u00fchende, queere Szene im arabischen Raum wird hierzulande von negativen Schlagzeilen verdr\u00e4ngt. Auch die Zensur von Filmen und Serien mit LGBTIQ-Charakteren ist noch immer gang und g\u00e4be.
