Sie war urspr\u00fcnglich eine britische Mini-Serie, die 1999 mit unz\u00e4hligen bis dahin geltenden Tabus brach und eine g\u00e4nzlich neue Repr\u00e4sentation von schwulem Leben in Manchester \u2013 rund um die ber\u00fcchtigte Canal Street \u2013 zeigte. Mehr als das achtteilige britische Original, von dem es noch zwei (sehr sehenswerte) Sonderfolgen gab, die im Februar 2000 an den Start gingen.<\/p>\n<p>Und nun also die dritte Auflage!<\/p>\n<p><strong>Handlung nach New Orleans verlegt<\/strong><br \/>\nDiesmal geht es um eine Gruppe von Freund*innen in New Orleans, Louisiana. Mit Cattrall als \u00abSouthern Belle\u00bb, deren beste Tage hinter ihr liegen, die aber nichts von ihrem einstigen Glamour und Biss verloren hat. Sie wird umrahmt von einer ganzen Reihe prominenter LGBTIQ-Schauspieler*innen, die bereits Vertr\u00e4ge unterschrieben haben.<\/p>\n<p>Als nicht-bin\u00e4re*r Schauspieler*in ist Jesse James Keitel dabei, um \u00abein trans Partygirl\u00bb zu spielen, das \u00abdie Szene etwas hinter sich gelassen hat\u00bb und \u00abdamit k\u00e4mpft, erwachsen zu werden\u00bb. Letzte Woche wurde bekanntgegeben, dass sie in dem <a href=\"https:\/\/mannschaft.com\/neil-patrick-harris-als-transgender-rockerin-am-broadway\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">\u00abHow I Met Your Mother\u00bb<\/a>-Spin-off \u00abHow I Met Your Father\u00bb bei Hulu mitspielen werde. Ausserdem habe sie gerade die Dreharbeiten f\u00fcr \u00abAbout My Father\u00bb an der Seite von Robert De Niro beendet. Die so im damaligen Fernsehen nirgends sonst gezeigt wurde. Cattrall hat danach noch in den beiden ersten Kinofilmen von \u00abSex and the City\u00bb mitgewirkt, die zusammen fast 710 Millionen Dollar einspielten.<\/p>\n<p>Der Filmkritiker George Northy schreibt, dieser \u00abQueer As Folk\u00bb-Besetzungs-Coup sei \u00abein Gewinn f\u00fcr Trysexual-Repr\u00e4sentation\u00bb. Mit \u00abTrysexual\u00bb bezeichnet man Personen, die in sexueller Hinsicht bereit sind, alles auszuprobieren und damit traditionelle gesellschaftliche Normen und Beschr\u00e4nkungen weit hinter sich lassen.
